An Idea Mapping Success Blogs Weblog
Did you know you can teach your baby to read? CIMI (Certified Idea Mapping Instructor) Liz Kimura from Brazil and her husband had their first baby earlier this year. Her name is Mayumi and she’s almost 5 months old. Liz is going to put materials together to teach their infant daughter to read based on a methodology created by Glenn Domain. He also wrote two books titled “How to Teach Your Baby to Read” and “How to Teach Your Baby Math.”
Above you can see Liz’s Idea Map which summarizes the book “How to Teach Your Baby to Read.”
The purpose of this blog is to share idea mapping examples and related learning from my Idea Mapping, Memory, Speed Reading, and Certification Workshops. This blog is dedicated to my Certified Idea Mapping Instructors, my clients, Mind Mapping and Idea Mapping practitioners around the globe.

I must say, I like seeing the idea maps here. The ones in the books and on a few other sites look so much like artwork that they feel like impossible goals to reach.

Linda – Don’t let the artwork intimidate you. Most of mine are very simple. They only need to meet your purpose. Some people just like the more artistic look. Don’t make that your goal.

When he was just months old his father and I taught our first baby to read by the Domain method. (with words printed on cardboard). I ordered the “whole kit” and wondered if it is still available? That “baby” is now 50 years old and never remembers
NOT learning to read. (He stopped reading aloud when his father announced to his grand-parents he COULD read and wanted to show him off.) (DEFINATELY A NO-NO)
He was about 15 months old and still remembers THAT part.
He had 2 siblings in the next two years who learned quickly the grammar school way. I was silently furious with the father.
NOW that 50 year old MAN and his lovely wife have their first
new-born baby and may be interested in teaching her to read.
It WAS so very exciting to teach – and now he reads everything!!
NOW I wish the MATH part had been available in 1963!
Thanks to everyone involved in such an exciting venture. Please tell me where I can purchase the “KIT”. It came with two books for children.

Lucy,
I’m sorry I don’t know if the kit is still available.
