An Idea Mapping Success Blogs Weblog
As another school year begins, learners around the globe might be encouraged to see an Idea Mapping example created by a fellow student, Erica Ervin. In 2002, Erica was a junior at Willow Run High School in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It was the first of several school years where I taught Idea Mapping to the students and faculty. In this map she outlines a chapter in her French book. Hint #13 is to create a map of a subject you need to remember, then review it on a daily basis until you can recreate it from memory. The 55 students who participated in this first group improved their average GPA’s by nearly half a point as a result of applying idea mapping to their studies.
The purpose of this blog is to share idea mapping examples and related learning from my Idea Mapping, Memory, Speed Reading, and Certification Workshops. This blog is dedicated to my Certified Idea Mapping Instructors, my clients, Mind Mapping and Idea Mapping practitioners around the globe.

Dear Ms. Nast: Love your idea maps. I’ve been using mind maps since 1990, when I discovered Joyce Wycoff’s wonderful book on the subject. I’m not a certified instructor, yet, despite Tony Buzan, have held a number of workshops with clients(Wal Mart,etc.). At age 73, I’m still vital(mind and body–old Marine), and have let up on my workshops. I also do a lot of consulting with the thinking processes advocated by Dr. Edward de Bono. I’ll keep watching this blogspot.

Congratulations on many counts! A young Marine of 73 that is mentally & physically fit is an accomplishment. Very good that you are introducing idea maps to the world. I’m sure you’re making a lasting impact on your clients and their extended circle of influence. Keep up the great work.
Learning French - Idea Map #42 | Idea Mapping

[…] On August 20th, I first introduced Erica Ervin. I noticed an unusually high amount of traffic coming to the blog from France after that posting, so here is another one of Erica’s idea maps from when she was learning French in high school. She is now in her senior year of college majoring in French. If anyone out there has created a map in a foreign language, I would enjoy sharing it with this blogging community. FYI – the Idea Mapping Squidoo Lens is now ranked #13 in business and #256 overall.
