An Idea Mapping Success Blogs Weblog
Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (TAKREER) was established in 1999 to take over the responsibilities of refining operations from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
Forward Training and Consulting, LLC (the Middle East Idea Mapping team headquartered in Amman, Jordan) was responsible for negotiating this 2-day Idea Mapping Course and we will be working on this project together. This class will be held September 22-23, 2010 and is closed to the public.
Other oil companies in the Middle East (including Aramco – the largest oil company in the world) have begun requesting Idea Mapping and Memory workshops. I’m so excited to bring this unique learning to the Middle East!
If you want to attend a public Idea Mapping Workshop you can join us Oct 10-11, 2010 in Amman, Jordan for our third 2010 workshop. Register here. Enjoy a 3-minute YouTube video from the first workshop in Jordan Feb 2010.
The purpose of this blog is to share idea mapping examples and related learning from my Idea Mapping, Memory, Speed Reading, and Certification Workshops. This blog is dedicated to my Certified Idea Mapping Instructors, my clients, Mind Mapping and Idea Mapping practitioners around the globe.

Question – I was trying to find the answer in the forum, but they don’t seem to be very highly utilized.
I’m reading your book and in it there is a section where it’s mentioned that you advise participants in the workshops to complete 100 maps. Is there a sequence or structure to that recommendation, or might I find that later in the book? Just curious.
Thanks.

Khalil – Sorry for the delay – I was out of town with no internet access. Thanks for your question. There is really no sequence or structure to the completion of 100 maps because people use Idea Mapping for very individual purposes. The idea behind 100 maps is more about the creation of the habit. I want it to be a natural option that you purposely decide to use rather than taking linear notes and later realizing that an Idea Map might have been the better choice. In some cases it may only take 20 Idea Maps perhaps. The key think I think is to not let too much time pass between using the tool. Consistency is the key to forming the habit.
I’m very disappointed about the use of the forum. I was spending an hour each day deleting the spammers that wanted to be approved for the forum, so I’ve stopped looking at the registrations because 99.9% are wasting my time in deleting them. I’ve asked my workshop participants to email me their user name if they join so that I can look for them. Do the same if you join. Also send me one of your idea maps with an explanation and I’ll post it on my blog.
