Idea Mapping Workshops Category

As I reflect on 2008 I was blessed with some wonderful experiences and the opportunity to meet many terrific people. But this particular event stands out because it was very unusual for me. I had never been to eastern Europe. I was invited to come to Warsaw, Poland in November of 2008 by Dr. Karol […]

In 2008 I taught more workshops than any other year since I began teaching in 1992. In these hard economic times the Idea Mapping Workshop is in high demand because participants are taught many tools that help them to: 1) Do more with less 2) Get their arms around complex and large amounts of data […]

Frank Medlar’s December 16, 2008 idea mapping example was the most popular 2008 posting since I start the new version of this blog in September 2008. Today I’m sharing another one of Frank’s maps that was also featured in the December 2008 Mindjet Newsletter. Frank Medlar is the Director of Workplace Learning and Career Development […]

Frank Medlar is the Director of Workplace Learning and Career Development for a Boston area college. We met in August 2008 when he attended a 2-day public Idea Mapping Workshop. Here are a few more photos from OTPP. The first two show the newly invented game called “Nerf Gun Baseball”. Nerf disks are shot from the toy gun and the hitter attempts to swat them with one of the sticks from the set of devil’s sticks. Although a difficult challenge, there was some success!

The number of images in this posting got a little long because of teaching two 2-day Idea Mapping Workshops back-to-back in Toronto at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. I’ll briefly summarize the photos from top down. The first part of the day starts out by testing participants’ belief systems around learning a new skill — in […]

Boeing – Part 2

In: Idea Mapping Workshops

Just a few more photos from last month’s Idea Mapping Workshops at Boeing. One of the many rewarding things that came from these workshops was a note I received from the daughter of one of the participants, Steve Dang. Steve went home and taught idea mapping to his daughter who was struggling with her AP […]

Boeing – Part 1

In: Idea Mapping Workshops

In October I taught two 2-day Idea Mapping Workshops at Boeing in Seattle, WA. I thought I would catch  you up on their progress so far. As part of the workshop I teach people to juggle as an analogy for learning a new skill that most adults believe to be impossible. Every once in a […]

Chris Blatnick was the first to get this one correct! Thanks for playing. Back to more idea mapping examples in the next post.

This name tent comes from my recent week at OTPP (Ontario Teachers Pension Plan) earlier this month.  I first introduced this brain teaser in an August post if you want more background. This is a pretty easy one, so guess away!
