The Idea Mapping Flickr Photostream has 629 Idea Maps, photos and videos with 19,947 views. The all-time number of views is 239,668. This is a simple link which enables you to quickly search for your favorite idea maps of choice. Enjoy!

This is the 7th set of Idea Mapping examples from Dr. Tim Schweizer’s Spring 2012 students. I have been following Tim’s work since October 2009 — shortly after he attended one of my Idea Mapping Workshops. Search this blog on “Luther College” for more examples.

Tim has developed a solid process to successfully teach Idea Mapping to his students. Tim takes the first two class periods to teach this tool to his students. Their first assignment is to create a map with “Who Am I?” as the topic. You can see many of those examples on this blog. Their second assignment is a take home assignment to create an idea map on their topic of choice. These examples are from this second assignment. The first one is about Kendra Moser’s trip to Ecuador, the second is Kelsey Krall’s wedding plans, third is Katie Gaudian’s note from chapter 3 of her history class and lastly is Kat Block’s plans for her future. More of these here.

Sure wish I’d learned Idea Mapping when I was in college. Thank you Kendra Moser, Kelsey Krall, Katie Gaudian and Kat Block for sharing your maps!

I (Jamie Nast) am one of 8 presenters for this Friday’s (February 15, 2013 at 1:00pm EST) free online conference titled, “Mission to Mind Health Mastery.”

This free 4-part tele and web summit has been created to help people become the master of their own magnificence by enriching the mind and enhancing practices and I am sharing my expertise related to – Idea Mapping. Below is a message from the Founder of this event, Carol Soares.

“Mission to Mind Health Mastery is a free 4-part, 26 hour tele and video symposium with the goal for you to discover Maximum  – Peace Potential Performance and Prosperity. Why is this important?

Well, our experiences can shape and structure our brains and this, in turn plays a powerful role in molding our stories.  We want you to have the power to create your story with rich possibilities.

Carol Soares has gathered 45 of the best brain/mind health, personal growth and transformation experts in the world for this event which continues on Friday, February 15 @ 11 am (EST).  The focus is performance – how you interact with and “show up” in the world. Visit http://missiontomindmastery.com to listen to the amazing interviews. It truly is a mind marathon focusing on many aspects of wellness! The day will include a series of 8 incredible 25-minute interviews that will help you to take away nuggets provided in small portions for applying to your daily life.  Our collaborative mission is for the world to be equipped to tap into the power of their magnificence. That includes you!

The mission aims to have you take away a minimum of 50 ways to fortify your mind for maximum possibilities (that you can start using immediately). This information will not only help you to optimize your mind, but because Carol is specifically dedicating the event to women/mompreneurs, if you are a woman, you’re going to take this to enrich your life, family and social life, and your business.

By connecting through this event you will also help raise awareness and support for My Refuge House for girls who are survivors of sex trafficking experiences.  The numbers of women and children affected continues to be astounding.

Human trafficking is a criminal business that profits from enslaving people for sexual servitude and forced labor. It is the fastest growing and second largest criminal industry in the world today. Human trafficking is a $32-billion industry worldwide.

Listen live or listen to the recordings for free within 48 hours of the event. It’s up to you. We just hope that you make your personal growth a priority and listen. Register here: http://missiontomindmastery.com

I’m looking forward to participating in this event!

Szymon Koscierzynski is the author of this idea map. He is a Senior Expert at the Ministry of the Environment in Poland and was a participant in the 5th Academy of Evaluation which began in November 2012 in Warsaw and will go through July 2013. See the December 12, 2012 posting for more information on this program.

Each year the Academy of Evaluation begins with my Idea Mapping Workshop. This was Szymon’s first idea map. Shortly after the course he used this map to support him during PowerPoint presentations about a project called GreenEvo — a unique Polish project on a global scale. First he used it during ENVICON (International  Environmental Protection Congress), and the second time during a meeting with Chinese delegates in the Ministry of the Environment.

On Tuesday Szymon is going to Cairo, Egypt to present the GreenEvo project for the II Polish-Egyptian Tourism Joint Committee. He will be using the same idea map for that presentation as well.

Thank you for sharing Szymon!

Yesterday I submitted a proposal to my publisher John Wiley & Sons for a revised edition of my Idea Mapping Book.

Included in the proposal were two idea maps. One summarized the tentative content changes and additions and the other summarized the marketing plans for the new book. There may be more additions to the book, but this gives you a general idea of the plans.

I met Melinda when she was in high school shortly after I taught a 2-day Idea Mapping Workshop at Boeing and her dad attended.

January 5, 2013 I posted about a re-inspired Melinda who has created a unique plan for attacking her homework this semester. In this posting you will find the idea maps from her first week back at school. She also sent me her notes which were colorful, fun, interesting and included small drawings. I think Melinda is going to have a very successful semester!

This idea map was created by Matthew Crowder from IdeaSmart using Bubbl.us. Matthew shared, “With the proliferation of computer, video games, smartphones, and the like I thought it would be interesting to illustrate the different ways media has now become integrated into the fabric of our lives. A century ago books and pictures were the staples of our media consumption. Now you’re lost without a media device on your person throughout the day.”

This is one of my favorite Idea Mapping Examples from Mayo Clinic’s Data Center Manager Michael Shaw. His vulnerability is moving. This example is also included in my Idea Mapping book.

I met Michael in October 2005. He was a participant in one of my Idea Mapping Workshops at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. My work at Mayo Clinic is a bit different because I have them read my book in advance and provide an idea map in advance of the class. This allows us to cover more ground during the workshop  including some speed reading. Each person submits an idea map upon my arrival so that I can get an idea of where they are at with their idea mapping skills.

When I saw Michael’s example I was blown away because of the huge amount of imagery in his map and my ability to understand much of the meaning within this map. To make a long story short I ended up asking him if I could include this example in my book. He said yes, and it took us 8 pages of text to explain what Michael shared in a 1-page idea map.

This is one of the best examples I have that demonstrates the power of imagery.
